If your printer Rip software support direct printing out, then it is needn’t to transform the CAD file’s picture format. Such as PhotoPrint printing system support CAD printing picture out via printer direct. But almost all of Chinese inkjet printer use maintop rip software. Maintop is common printout Rip software in Chinese inkjet printer market, but common picture formats for maintop rip software are JPG and TIF and so on. So, in the process of using Chinese inkjet printer we need to transform CAD file’s DWG to JPG or TIF format. It is convenient for import picture in maintop rip software and printout from printer.

Simple steps as follows:

Step1. Ctrl+P, open print interface, will see Auto CAD print dialog, at print/ Plotter drop-down list you will see pdfFactory Pro printer. If you can’t find pdfFactory Pro at once it is doesn’t matter also, Because Auto CAD own PDF printer use own system DWG to PDF.pc3 can printout PDF picture file as well. Almost no differences in drawing quality, just paper size in different virtual printer has slight difference. You can choose pdfFactory or DWG to PDF.pc3 according to your habit.

Step2. Select Print range, single click OK button. Then save it to designated location.

Step3. Use photoshop software transfer vector PDF to JPG format. Then open previous saved PDF file use PS. Then you will see a dialog box. Adjust the resolution to meet printing request. Now a transparent background picture appear in Photoshop, but it is vertical version picture, you just need to open [image] – [image rotation]- [90°(anticlockwise)] , then you will got a correct position picture.

Step4. Transform JPG format, in PS software click [file]- [saved as]- [JPEG]. (Select proper storage path).

When you finished all of those steps just mean you finish the format conversion from CAD’s DWG file to JPG’s picture file already. Printer can output JPG picture file via maintop rip software now.
